Summer holidays in Alta Badia

Walking, hiking & cycling in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage

Lush woodland and quaint Alpine pastures framed by the impressive mountains of Alta Badia. Spend your summer holiday in the South Tyrolean Dolomites and you will be rewarded with fresh mountain air, plenty of sunshine and idyllic paths that lead to cosy mountain huts and craggy peaks. Our hotel in the South Tyrolean Dolomites is the perfect base for your outdoor pursuits, whether you are travelling solo or spending a holiday with your partner, friends, family or dog. From our convenient position right next to the valley station of the Piz La Ila lift, you can reach the high plateau stretching between Corvara, La Villa and San Cassiano in just a few minutes. Here, at an altitude of nearly 2,000 metres, you will find beautiful hiking trails for every taste, from leisurely routes to spectacular mountain climbs and via ferratas. At the top station on the high plateau, the Movimënt recreational park with climbing wall will amaze you with sports equipment, Kneipp trails and Nordic walking trails, as well as family-sized and dog-friendly options for a great day out.

The Piz La Ila high plateau and the whole Alta Badia region are a popular summer destination among cyclists. Around our hotel in La Villa there are numerous mountain bike trails and E-bike-friendly routes with options for everyone, from bike pros to families with young children. The Gardenaccia and the Piz Sorega Plateau, for example, are an absolute must for downhill fans. Summer highlights include the Sellaronda Bike Day, which takes place every year in June: the mountain passes around the Sella massif are closed to traffic for the occasion, offering you the perfect opportunity to cycle around the majestic mountain. The Dolomites Bike Day is also in June, while the Maratona dles Dolomites is an appointment you don’t want to miss if you are visiting in July. Every year, this cycling marathon attracts more than 7,000 enthusiasts from all over the world.

Our reception team will be happy to provide more detailed information.

Other summer activities you can practise in Alta Badia include tennis, free climbing, horse trekking and paragliding.
